Art Classes in East Brainerd

Art classes in East Brainerd happen every week at Creative Art Place, in Suite #16 at 8115 East Brainerd Road. Kids, teens and grown-ups come here to paint, draw, sculpt and play, right on the neighborhood's main road.

You'll find us in Suite #16

You'll find us in Suite #16. We run on classes and appointments rather than walk-in hours, so book a class or a call before you come and we'll be there to welcome you.

That way you never drive over to a locked door, and your artist's teacher is ready and waiting.

It's the same studio for every class, camp and party, so once you know the door, you know it for all of them.

What's on each week

  • Kids classes on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, plus Saturday mornings
  • A homeschool class on Tuesday late mornings
  • Creative Mornings for grown-ups on Thursdays, and Creative Crafternoons on Tuesdays
  • Private lessons, one to one, by appointment

Families from all around

Some of our families live right here in East Brainerd. Others drive in from Ooltewah, Collegedale, East Ridge and Hixson, from Chattanooga and Cleveland, and from Ringgold and Fort Oglethorpe across the Georgia line.

The studio grew out of 21 years of teaching Chattanooga children, and some families have been with us for years.

Parties, camps and Friday nights

The same studio hosts birthday parties built around a custom art project, school-break art camps, and Kids Night Out with pizza, art and a movie on Friday nights.

Grown-ups can join Creative Mornings or Crafternoons too.

A studio with a story

Jennifer Strickler started teaching Chattanooga children 21 years ago, when her own kids' school had no art. Creative Art Place is where that work lives now, in a studio chock full of supplies.

She teaches here with five teachers, each with a playful title like Chief Facilitator of Fun or Champion of Happy Accidents.
